Prime Minister Keir Starmer used the Group of 20 discussions in Johannesburg to signal a widening of the Epstein inquiry, telling reporters that ‘as a general principle I’ve held for a very long time is that anybody who has got relevant information in relation to these kind of cases should give that evidence to those that need it.’ He avoided commenting on King Charles III’s brother directly but framed accountability as a core principle.

US House Oversight Committee members Rep. Robert Garcia and Rep. Suhas Subramanyam pressed Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor to a transcribed interview about his friendship with Epstein and his connections to Epstein’s social circle. Andrew, stripped of his royal titles last month, has not complied. The probe centers on Epstein, Maxwell, and survivor Virginia Giuffre—who testified about assaults at Epstein’s Little Saint James compound. Giuffre, identified as a survivor, died by suicide in April this year, according to the report. A flight log published late in September lists Andrew’s May 2000 visit to New York, tying him to Epstein and Maxwell’s orbit and raising questions about the breadth of the network.

Lawmakers say the work will move forward with or without him, insisting anyone involved in these crimes be held accountable regardless of wealth or status. The case could test the boundaries of royal immunity and international cooperation, with implications for the monarchy’s public image and for survivor-led justice as this saga continues to unfold.
